Full Stack AI Engineer
Interview Resources is hiring a Full Stack AI Engineer to help build its AI-powered deep-research platform for interview prep. The company is small (solo founder), remote, and profitable, with 3k+ paid users. You'll own whole product surfaces rather than tickets, working directly with the founder with minimal hierarchy between decisions and shipped work. You'll work across the stack in TypeScript — Next.js/React on the frontend, Node.js and PostgreSQL (Drizzle ORM) on the backend — building and optimizing the AI research pipeline (web search, extraction, grading, caching), streaming report UIs, cost controls for LLM calls, and production monitoring. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants direct customer impact, a small tight-knit team, and the chance to shape a profitable AI product from close to day one.
Responsibilities
- - Build and ship end-to-end product interfaces or pipeline systems using Next.js/React or Node.js/TypeScript
- - Design and maintain Postgres schemas and safe migrations (Drizzle ORM)
- - Build/optimize the AI research pipeline: web search, extraction, grading, caching
- - Implement cost controls, budget tracking, and model selection for LLM calls
- - Write automated tests (Vitest, Playwright) for critical paths, including payments
- - Move long-running tasks to durable, retry-safe job queues
- - Monitor production systems and debug issues directly with users
