Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - Onboarding)
The Platform Onboarding team builds Coinbase's most critical user-facing infrastructure — from retail onboarding to account recovery. Their mission is to build trusted, scalable regulatory solutions that enable compliant product and geo expansion, propelling the next billion customers onto Coinbase. You will design scalable systems, build new services using Golang, and work across engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver the product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- - Build new backend services using Golang to meet critical product and business needs
- - Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and best practices
- - Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership on quarterly roadmaps
- - Maintain high quality, well-tested production services
- - Contribute to Coinbase's open financial system mission
- - Participate in architecture design and code reviews

Requirements
- - 5+ years of software engineering experience
- - Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services in service-oriented architectures
- - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- - Experience with Golang, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB preferred
- - Experience at a company that went through rapid growth (startup to mid-size)
- - Crypto-forward: familiarity with onchain activity, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services
