Senior Backend Software Engineer
Pemo is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build and scale its fintech infrastructure across MENA. You will design and develop scalable solutions on AWS, work in an agile SCRUM environment, and integrate with card issuers, wallets, and KYC systems. Remote-first with flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- - Build scalable backend solutions on AWS (Lambda and Mobile Hub a plus)
- - Develop and maintain Node.js/Nest.js services and REST APIs
- - Work in an agile SCRUM environment with product managers, BAs, and designers
- - Integrate with fintech providers: wallets, card issuers, KYC/AML systems
- - Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- - Take end-to-end ownership of backend features and outcomes

Requirements
- - 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
- - Solid Node.js experience; Nest.js preferred
- - Experience with AWS (Lambda, Mobile Hub a plus)
- - Fintech background highly preferred: wallets, card issuers, or KYC processes
- - Strong REST API design and database skills
- - Excellent communication skills; works well in a team or independently
