Senior Backend Engineer – Growth Team
HungerStation is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Growth team in Dubai. You will influence platform architecture, lead the migration to microservices, implement secure cloud-native backend solutions, and mentor teammates — all while working on distributed systems that handle millions of daily requests across the GCC.
Responsibilities
- - Drive architectural decisions for the Growth team's backend systems
- - Lead and contribute to the migration from monolith to microservices architecture
- - Build secure, scalable backend solutions using GoLang or Ruby on Rails
- - Implement cloud-native tooling and distributed systems patterns
- - Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices
- - Participate in on-call rotations and incident resolution

Requirements
- - 5+ years of backend engineering experience (10+ preferred)
- - Strong proficiency in GoLang and/or Ruby on Rails
- - Experience designing distributed systems and microservices at scale
- - Strong database knowledge (SQL and NoSQL)

- - Based in Dubai or globally relocation-eligible
